Capuccino With Dawn
Dawn goes, as nobody knows,
To the cafe; to safely peer through the windows
Where nobody goes at this hour.

Dawn stays hidden away at the cafe,
Where caffeine colours the business gray
That rests on this unnoticed flower.

It's another morning and in the city out there:
A bus drones by and we all pay the fair;
A pigeon swoops low and takes her last crumb,
For dawn has come and gone.

Away I fly, I work through the night.
Everyday I must take flight;
But in the dawn, I will gaze at you
And enjoy a moment of solitude too.
