Ghost Song
PART ONE:

10,000 Leagues under the sea,
We lay in bed for years
Together as we dreamt we'd be,
10,000 Leagues under the sea.

2,000 miles from where we met,
We fell asleep on a movie set,
Our souls rose to explore the depths,
And gaze in wonder at the world we left.

200 years we dreamed of city streets,
New England cafes where we would meet,
Sunshine and the fall of leaves,
Reaching shore beyond these seas.

10 minutes from the deck,
You came upon our treasure chest,
Looked in with morbid delight,
1 minute before we left.

PART TWO:

I found them, two of them
A man and a woman
It was unreal
She had laid her head against his chest
And waited for the world to end
His left palm lay flat against her head.
And as I began navigating the room to learn more
I noticed something that sent shivers down my spine.

(it's not there anymore)

His head had turned and looked directly into my eyes
I felt a warm current pass through me and a voice in my head
Resonating as if it had been echoing through the cabin for 200 years.
As I turned to run, the floor gave way and the seafloor appeared
below as the ghostly sight disappeared into soot and stars.

It's not there anymore...
It's not there anymore...
It's not there anymore...
